Kitty Taylor was a senior citizen activist and radio host on WNJR with “The Kitty Taylor Show” and “Senior Citizens in Action”. She was named to the Mayor’s Senior Citizen Commission in 1963 by Addonizio and served as public relations for director for the Commission, and later as assistant director. She later served on committees under Mayors Gibson and James.
She is credited for writing at articles in the Afro American in the 1950s including the column “The Social Circuit”. She also wrote the column “Family Album” for Club World News, a Newark publication.
From 1976-1988 Kitty was director of senior citizens for United Community Corporation. She also served on the New Jersey Senior Citizens Council.
Kitty attended Charlton Street School and South Side High, and attended Howard University. She married Willis Taylor in 1949. Before, she lived on Stratford Place (1940).
