1892-1978

Soprano who performed throughout the United States and Canada at least through the 1930s. The Newark News called her a “church and concert soloist” and mentioned she performed at Aeolian Hall in New York in 1922. She also sang opera. She was a soloist in South Park Presbyterian Church and Second Presbyterian Church.

She said, “I am a Newark girl through and through. I was born here and my father was born here too and my mother’s only regret is that she wasn’t born here too.” She graduated Chestnut Street Grammar School and Barringer High School.

She lived on Rose Terrace and Belmont St and lived in Newark though at least 1925. After her first marriage in 1925 she moved to Maine and Long Island but returned to East Orange in 1938, where according to a 1938 article she planned to open a studio. In the 1940s, she advertised as a singing teacher.
