Julie Sabine was head of the Art and Music Department at Newark Library. She worked at the library for over 40 years. She was a specialist in rare books, printing and fine prints.
At the library, Julia was editor of the Newark Library newsletter for many years and organized the Great Books program. She was the originator of the New Jersey Illustration Index, at the Newark Library, which indexed illustrations in the collection, as well as in books.
Julia also taught at Rutgers Library School.
Charles Cummings wrote, “Her often quiet manner was combined with an unbroken thirst for knowledge and scholarship”.
