She considered herself “Newark born and bred”. Appointed Principal of the Girls Vocational School in 1914 and remained so until her retirement in 1927.

Previous work: From at least 1890-1900 she was an Assistant Teacher at Camden Street School. By 1904 she was a Model and Critic Teacher at the Newark Normal School, a position which she held until 1914.
