1856-1925

Physician who traveled widely in the West and was very prominent in Crawford, Nebraska where she was a government surgeon, “physician to the Indians” and relief surgeon for the railroad. The Newark Star wrote, “[she had] a professional career in the West that…for thrilling situations has never been equaled by a woman practitioner in this country”.

In Newark during the 1910s she was examining physician for five of the most prominent fraternal lodges. Anna advertised as a physician and obstetrician and graduated from New York Medical College.

She was born in Newark to Morton and Ann Robinson; Morton was a well known doctor. She attended Chestnut Street School and Newark High School, graduating in 1875. In the 1910s she lived at 20 Marshall Street.

Member of the DAR and Newark Red Cross during the war, as well as a prominent official in the Eastern Star.
