1864-1944

Caroline Bamberger Fuld, sister of Louis Bamberger, helped found famed Newark store Bamberger & Co. She devoted her later life to philanthropy, throughout Newark incl. Jewish & African American groups & helped found the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton.

Caroline donated frequently to the Mosque theater and donated 5,000 cherry trees to Branch Brook Park in 1928. She also donated to the Newark Museum, Red Cross, Fuld Neighborhood House, among many other Newark organizations. She loved music and was devoted to her garden.

Born in Baltimore, Caroline came to Newark with her brother in 1895. She married his first partner in the store, Louis M. Frank. Frank died in 1910, and Caroline married the Mr. Fuld, who died in 1928.
