1908-1984

Mollie Dawkins was co-organizer of the Dawkins Civic Association, worked for the Housing Authority, and coordinated the Sunshine Teleservice for senior citizens.  She was also founder of Community Preservation Service, to improve her neighborhood around Leslie and Schley Street, for which she was honored in 1966.

Mollie and her husband founded the South Side First Aid Squad / South Side Ambulance Squad. In 1972, she received a Distinguished Citizen Award for this work. In the 1970s, she was often listed as President of the South Side Ambulance Squad. In 1976, she and her husband won a Brotherhood Award from the Human Rights Commission for their work with the First Aid Squad.

Mollie worked for the Housing Authority for 22 years. She was born and educated in Georgia.
