Assistant teacher to James Baxter at the Colored School from at least 1888. Spent most of her teaching career at Commerce Street School.

Member of the Phyllis Wheatly Society.

In 1900, lived with the father of Rose S. Ray Moryck, Adam Ray. In 1910, lived on High Street with famous Newark Black doctor William H Washington. In 1915, lived on Kearny St with Brenda Estelle Ray Moryck and Rose S. Ray Moryck.

She was appointed a delegate to the National Congress of Colored Educators, by the Governor, in 1912.
