Previously taught at Charlton Street School and South 8th Street School and was Vice Principal at South 8th Street, Oliver Street and Bragaw Avenue Schools. Starting teaching in 1936.
She graduated Newark State Teachers College and was a member of the Phillis Wheatley Literary Society and on the boards of the Newark Library, Zonta Club, United Nnations Association and Newark Museum. She was also active in the Urban League Guild and YMCA/YWCA.
She graduated Barringer High in June 1928
